Obiang close to Fiorentina move

Fiorentina are close to securing the signing of Pedro Obiang from West Ham United, according to in Italy.

The midfielder has made only 17 appearances for the Hammers this season. Most of those were as a substitute off the bench, as was the case in their on Saturday when captain Mark Noble and young Declan Rice, who scored the winning goal, were picked ahead of him. And with the recent addition of former Arsenal and Manchester City player Samir Nasri who seems to have already slotted in, Obiang has apparently become surplus to requirements.

The 26-year-old Equatorial Guinea international has been linked with a move to Serie A before. During last summer, reports spoke about talks between West Ham and Sampdoria about his potential return to the club he left in 2015. However, no deal materialized, and Obiang is now set to join Fiorentina in a deal that would see the Hammers receive a sum of £10 million.
