Leigh Griffiths is ready to commit his future to Celtic amid interest from Championship side Leeds United,.

The 24 year old, who moved to Celtic Park from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2011, has alerted potential suitors with nineteen goals in all competitions for the Scottish champions so far this season.

Leeds, who earlier this week named former Brentford and Wigan Athletic boss Uwe Rolser as their fifth head coach in twelve months are looking ahead to next season after a relatively disappointing 2014/15 campaign.

Central Coast Mariners 0 Adelaide United 1: Isaias seals much-needed win as Karacan sees red

Adelaide United recorded their first A-League win in six games as Isaias Sanchez s first-half volley sunk 10-man Central Coast Mariners 1-0 on Sunday.

Midfielder Isaias ran on to a looping headed clearance to fire in the only goal of the game from the edge of the penalty area 10 minutes before the interval at Central Coast Stadium.

His strike was enough to clinch Adelaide their first victory since February 2, meaning they move above Melbourne City into fifth place in the table after 23 rounds of the season.

The Mariners came into the contest off a dramatic 3-2 result against Newcastle Jets, but the competition s bottom side failed to record back-to-back triumphs for the first time since the end of 2017.

They did hit the woodwork prior to conced…

AC Milan at risk of new FFP punishment from UEFA

AC Milan have been referred to the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) adjudicatory chamber over further alleged Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches.

Milan were suspended from this season s Europa League after breaking FFP rules, only to have the punishment overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

However, Milan were warned in December they would be excluded from any European competition for which they qualified in 2022-23 and 2023-24, as well as see a restriction placed on Europa League revenues, if they failed to meet break-even requirements by June 2021.

And UEFA confirmed on Wednesday that the CFCB will be looking further into the Serie A giants finances over an alleged failure to comply with FFP protocol during the last three years.

Germany aware of expectations

Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff says his team are aware of the high expectations on their shoulders for Euro 2012.

Beaten by Spain in the Euro 2008 final, Germany are again one of the favourites for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine, which starts on Friday.

Bierhoff warned his team to be careful and continue working hard, adding they knew what was expected of them.

Spain belong to the big favourites. Everybody talks about Spain and Germany, and how we will meet in the final, Bierhoff told reporters.

I can only advise to remain calm, though. Netherlands are very strong, and France have not lost in the past 20 matches.

The expectations are incredible in Germany. However, the higher expectations get, the bigger the risk to be disappointed…

Turn the page – Pochettino book no excuse for Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed suggestions his recently released book is a contributing factor to Tottenham s faltering form.

In the weeks following their unforgettable encounter with Madrid, Tottenham s performances and results have tailed off, with Tuesday s 2-1 reverse at Leicester City leaving them with a solitary win from the pas…
